I suppose this was to be expected, given all the forces I have repeatedly outlined in prior posts being against the re-election of Donald J. Trump as President of the United States. But I certainly didn’t expect the kind of total bullshit shenanigans that started around 4 AM EST Wednesday when it seemed like Wisconsin and Michigan suddenly “found” 100K votes for “Slo’ Joe” Biden when up until that point the President seemed to have things in hand. So now we’re going to relive 2000 Bush vs. Gore all over again, but this time in as much as six states if the Trump campaign is smart.
Me? I want to see a recount – and a validation – of all votes in Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Nevada. And that’s OK – the new prez isn’t sworn in until January so I’m good with taking the time and doing it right. If Biden is, in fact, determined to be the President-elect, fine, but I don’t think it went down that way. As Richard “Hooper” Dreyfuss said in “Jaws”:
You want to be sure
I want to be sure
We all want to be sure, OK?
Me? I’m not just thinking about the various states in question. I want ALL the states recounted – by hand, by county and/or precinct. Every American voter deserve to know their ballot had the same treatment as everyone else’s. Too much time? Too much money? Bullshit. Nothing is more important to the national consciousness as knowing we’re not a friggin’ banana republic, so that what has happened this year isn’t repeated in subsequent midterm and presidential elections. This kind of thing might have been acceptable back in Tammany Hall days, but it’s the 21st century and we have the ability to make sure everyone’s vote counts the same as everyone else’s shouldn’t be that hard. If it’s gonna take the Supreme Court to finally lay down the law in the land, I’m good with that no matter which way the pendulum swings.
Personally, were I Donald Trump, I have nothing to lose and I’m takin’ it to the barricades. To quote Hillary Rodham Clinton, Trump “should not concede under any circumstances, because I think this is going to drag out, and eventually I do believe he will win if we don’t give an inch, and if we are as focused and relentless as the other side is.” And if the Washington swamp GOP doesn’t side with him he should call them out and take them down with him as well. This is no longer an election for just folks fu**in’ around; this is war, the future of our republic.
If we’re going to leave this in the hands of the bureaucrats and technocrats we are doomed. To quote the late, great Andrew Brietbart.
Oh, and, by the way, I stand by my Election Day prediction. I never thought it would end up being this bad.
