This is one of the saddest Twitter threads I’ve ever read, and it goes to something that has been bothering me through both the COVID-19 virus fiasco and everything that is going on at the present time. It’s the fact that everyone – and I mean everyone in the media has politicized everything and dehumanized everything, as if their viewpoint and agenda – to get rid of Donald Trump – has (no pun intended) trumped everything else. I think of all those who have had loved ones – fathers, sisters, brothers, mothers, dearest friends – lose their lives to COVID-19 but no one seems to care beyond hyping the numbers as if it were some kind of a horse race.
How crazy has it gotten? You have a media who has zero issue with rioters and looters raising hell all over the place, but if a barber shop, gym, or hair salon wants to open it’s a threat to the community. Honestly, you can’t make this shit up.
I think of all the governors, mayors, and public health officials (primarily in Democratic, “blue” states) who have used the COVID-19 virus as a means and an excuse to forward their own agendas for power and control, as if the lives of all the people who have lost fathers, sisters, mothers, brothers, and the dearest of friends means nothing to them. To these public officials, the people and the lives behind the numbers mean nothing – they’re just collateral damage in a much larger war. And if five, ten, fifteen, or twenty thousand elderly people die because COVID-19 patients were put into their nursing homes? Well, that’s just an ill-advised public policy gone wrong.
I think for many – if not most – of the Democrats and liberals out there the hatred of Trump is everything to them. They eat, sleep, work, and spend their idle time not just hating the President, but convinced that anyone who supports him is racist, sexist, homophobe, or a xenophobe. They surround themselves in their own happy elitist echo chambers with like-minded people who simply nod and repeat back the same dull and ignorant bile they get from CNN, NPR, and MSNBC every day. They’ve been brainwashed into dehumanizing conservatives and supporters of President Trump because they can’t begin to imagine how anyone could (at least in their minds) be that stupid and ignorant to think that anything the President says or does could be supported and/or acceptable in any way. Don’t believe me? Check out the absolute lunacy on social media to any conservative poster. It’s frightening. Which is why I write the following.
So where do we go from here? Frankly, I don’t think there is any way forward, to tell you the truth. When you have families and friendships being shattered simply because of Donald Trump – think about it, Donald Trump – you have to ask yourself if anything involving these people is worth it going forward. In my view, if there is anything we as a people may have learned as a result of what is going on around us right now – whether it be the virus, the cancel culture, the shootings and/or the lootings – it’s that getting it’s now every man for himself. You can’t rely on government to keep you safe. You can’t rely on friends or friendships. You can’t even rely on family, for that matter.
There is a civil war coming, and I’m afraid it’s not going to be a cold one. It’s already hot and it’s only going to get hotter. The war is going to be between the civilized, rational folk who happen to think this country is a pretty damned good place to live, and that those who forget the mistakes of the past are condemned to repeat them again. Our history is the story of our nation and how we got here. We’ve made our share of mistakes and have paid for them with our very own blood. That ought to mean something. Without the kind of depressions or world wars my parents and grandparents lived through – experiences that made them appreciate all the good things life here in the USA gave them – we have become a country without any sense of perspective. You want to call them millennials or Gen-Xers, or whatever – they’ve been pampered and spoiled beyond all rationale; they’ve been fed and indoctrinated by liberalism into believing the greatest country on earth is evil and racist, and its institutions unjust.
And the media feeds it, as if the ones doing the looting and anarchy are the victims. They are not.
This is pure evil, and we’re seeing the fruits of this evil unfold before us.
My mom always taught us growing up to treat people as we would want to be treated; she always looked for the good in everyone. But I look at the barbarity, hated, violence, and vulgarity these so-called “peaceful protests” have descended into and it doesn’t take a genius to realize that the time for compromise and civil discourse is over; the other side has no interest in compromise or civil discourse – that has become abundantly clear. And I’m no longer interested in trying to appeal to the supposed “better angels of our nature”, because it doesn’t exist – they’re not interested. As an unabashed Trump supporter I am their enemy; therefore, I will treat my adversaries in kind.
There was a time when all this civil unrest would have me call for something like the National Guard or something to go in and protect the cities and innocents being victimized by the mob after their mayors and governors refused to act on behalf of all their citizens, not just the loudest and those closest to their own political leanings. But you know what? I think the time has to for the country to see what happens to those “blue” states and their inner cities when the mob is left to do their will and law enforcement is defunded and/or called to stand down. Let these states and cities – and the rest of the country and the world – see just what happens when law and order is allowed to disintegrate in the face of the mob. Let them burn until there is nothing left that can be burned.
Liberals and liberalism destroy everything they touch. This is a battle between good and evil. Which side are you on?
I only ask because if history tells us anything, it will result in the mob coming after the very people who unleashed them in the first place. And when that happens, I’ll say “screw them”. They deserve everything they get.
And then the mob will come after you. Count on it.
