A number of items while marveling at the effects of our own hurricane here in the Valley of the Sun:

You can feel the changes T.S. Lidia is bringing to Arizona, humid…muggy…swampy…just a few words to describe it.

We had lots of clouds today but that’s it. What we really needed was to have a system swoop from northwest off the Pacific and draw Lidia’s remnants into the Valley, but that ain’t gonna happen. Looking at the long-term forecast, we may not get any precipitation of substance until December!

It’s occasions just like this that tell you that as long as John Farrell is managing the Red Sox they’re not going anywhere:

In the bottom half of the sixth, with Pomeranz getting up towards 100 pitches, it seemed like a good time to have him on a short leash. John Farrell had Brandon Workman warming up, and Didi Gregorius was leading off for New York. With Chase Headley and Matt Holliday following him — one hitter who was having a big day against Pomeranz and one righty who hits lefties very well — it seemed like it should be a one-batter inning for Pomeranz. He walked Gregorius, but Farrell left him in. Predictably, it did not go well. Headley hit a single to put runners on the corners and Holliday destroyed a middle-middle fastball to give the Yankees a 4-1 lead. With the Red Sox having bigger bullpen than usual thanks to expanded rosters, sticking with Pomeranz really made no sense to me. His day ended after striking out Greg Bird, and Brandon Workman came in to finish things off.

John Farrell sucks as a manger.

You can bet the losers at CNN and MSNBC won’t show this. Personally, I think it’s great to have a First Lady who is not only classy but abona fide fox.

…Hey Democrats, this is what you have for your national elected leadership. What a buffoon.

Swing change alert: big changes being attempted at the range today. This is what I am trying to achieve. Look at the move on Paula’s downswing, how she just goes and gets it. Look at how she stays on top of the ball. Look at that figure and those legs…er, never mind. That is what I’m going to work on achieving. I just love that move!

Hard to argue with any of these choices. Although personally I wouldn’t have mind seeing included Dylan’s Nashville Skyline.

Maybe it is, I don’t know. I do know we’ve got quite a little restaurant row just five mins away in downtown Gilbert, and both Chandler and Mesa (both no more than 20 mins away) have the same as well. The one thing about Americans is that when the going gets tough, the tough get going…

…unless your a leftist lib, of course. Funny, I was thinking the same thing. You’d never see the liberal left doing what the Cajun Navy has been doing down in Texas. If this happened in, say, New York City or San Francisco, they’d all be crawled up in a ball weeping while waiting for their precious federal government to rescue them.

Along those same lines, I’m thinking a lot of people who have been watching the Harvey rescue efforts are being forced to re-think the crap the mainstream media has been shoving down peoples’ throats for a while now. This country might be divided politically, but we work together when there’s the need. Unless, of course, you work for CNN – then you’re just a sleazebag.

I made my Harvey donation to the good folks at Samaritan’s Purse. If you’re looking for a charitable organization you can trust, it’s hard to beat the folks at SP. It’s a great organization run by Billy Graham’s son, Franklin.

“So, how does a great ball-striker out here on the PGA Tour like you make a 12 on a par 5?”

It’s pretty friggin’ sad to know that even with this the libs and Democrats will still find a way to criticize the President and First Lady.

Lots of folks know pop/country legend Glen Campbell passed away a few weeks ago from Alzheimer’s. Most people don’t know he had a long and enduring friendship with, of all people, rock legend Alice Cooper. Check this out.
