A few random thoughts while wondering when Hillary Clinton will stop “listening to real Americans” long enough to spout anything of substance.
The membership at Augusta National should feel grateful I’m not in charge there, because when Paula Creamer speaks, I listen. I mean, how can you say no to a beautiful woman?
I’ll admit: I don’t get all the attention spent on Bruce / Caitlyn Jenner (or whatever he or she is or might be tomorrow). He/she/it is nothing more than an attention-craving deviant freak. But that’s what America seems all about these days: celebrating immorality and anything that flies in the face of tradition.
The Red Sox have become virtually unwatchable. Hanley Ramirez has no business being in the outfield, Pablo Sandoval isn’t worth the money he’s being paid, Mike Napoli and David Ortiz (as much as I hate to say it) are growing old before our eyes, and manager John Farrell isn’t going to make it to the end of June. The whole team seems out of kilter – it’s time to decide if they’re going to go with a youth movement (and therefore bring in a manager that can relate to the kids). It certainly can’t keep going the way it is.
It was only by chance that I found Linda Ronstadt’s 2011 release Frenesi, but it makes for a delightful – and welcome – addition to my “Tropical Breezes” music collection. Latin-swing classic/romantic/ballad/dance music under a bright moon and rustling palm trees never sounded so good!
I know there’s a lot of water to flow under the political bridge, but at this point I would love to see a Rick Perry / Carly Fiorina ticket.
…but I haven’t closed the door on Marco Rubio just yet.
Is it just me, or has the Yahoo! main page become virtually unreadable? It seems every day there’s another article about gays and transsexuality being shoved down your throat. Believe me, I’m no prude, but it’s just this in your face stuff every day gets a little tiresome.
Interesting column by Neal Boortz. Love his closing line:
When elephants exhibit this behavior in the wild it’s an occasion for marveling at their intelligence. When humans exhibit this behavior in high crime areas, it’s called racism.
Indeed.
