A few thoughts while waiting for the two gallons of chlorine I poured into the swimming pool today to get rid of my algae problem…
If there’s one thing The Great White Shank knows when it comes to golf it’s how to take a drop. When I first saw Tiger’s drop on 15 Friday, I thought it looked a good 2-3 yards from his original divot but didn’t think much of it until I heard him admit he dropped two yards back in order to give him a better approach. Tiger might be able to get away with that kind of thing at a Goodboys Invitational, but the Augusta National play committee was right to assess him a two-stroke penalty.
Not sure why this isn’t getting much more attention from the media. Well, I know why, but it ought to be a cause for concern by everyone. Once the government thinks it has implicit approval to go after people’s retirement accounts no one’s assets are going to be safe. Going after once again the so-called “rich” is just a Trojan horse.
Rest in peace, Jonathan Winters. He was one funny guy.
Reason# 1,231,495 why you should avoid at all costs allowing your kids to be educated by public school teachers.
…and yes, I know I risk painting all public school teachers with a broad brush, but I can only speak from what I see when anyone tries to cross the public teachers unions in any way. Teachers these days are only interested in indoctrinating kids into their own left-wing ideology.
While I hate to see any athlete get hurt under any circumstances, it’s hard to feel any kind of sympathy for Kobe Bryant and his torn Achilles tendon. Maybe LaBron James comes close, but I doubt there’s another more self-absorbed, obnoxious athlete out there.
The more I read about Pope Francis I the more I think he’s the read deal and exactly what the Roman Catholic Church needs at this point in time. More than anything, the Church needs a reformer willing to toss out the dead wood and those who are only interested in their power and influence, and this seems like a good start.
