Wondering about the crazy winter everyone had this year? This is as good a reason for it as I’ve heard. And it makes sense, when you think of it. Which begs the question: what does that mean for the coming spring and summer?
Up in the Rockies and Sierras they got pounded with a lot of snow over this past weekend, which is something we desperately needed – the winter was so dry for everyone out west, and now here in Arizona we won’t get any more rain until the monsoon season arrives in July.
If, this year, it arrives.
Ahh…monsoon season. Just saying the words sounds… so exotic!
There was no winter in Derby City this year…I did not put on my heavy winter coat on even one time. And that is fine by me…shorts, tee shirts, flip flops are my idea of winter wear.

Interesting theory. I don’t know if he’s right on the debris, but there’s no doubt that the arctic air masses we normally get just didn’t arrive this winter. At this point the lack of snow cover means that whatever cold air that makes it down from Canada will be five to ten degrees warmer than it would be otherwise.
Not that I’m complaining.
