Gretings, October! One of my favorite months of the year back home.
R.I.P. Tony Curtis. My wife Tracey actually met Tony Curtis several years ago while we were vacationing in Las Vegas. We were having lunch and cocktails with her twin sister and my friend Paul at the Bellagio at some retro-looking bistro right off the main drag that’s no longer there. It was a great place for people watching. All of a sudden, Paul (a big movie buff) recognizes TC walking towards us with his wife in hand. Tracey gets up and walks right up to TC, introduces herself, and tells him she’s a big fan of his movies. Classy guy he was, he took her hand and kissed it. She was on cloud nine. Me? I missed everything, I was in the men’s room.
Ever wonder how the Teddy Bears’ classic “To Know Him Is To love Him” would sound Pink Floyd style? Me neither. But at a charity benefit earlier this year, the Floyd’s David Gilmour and Roger Waters reunited to show you. A little ragged, but Gilmour’s guitar work is as stylistic and solid as ever.
OK, now I’m ready for space travel. (Hat tip: Hot Air)
Can’t say I disagree with the results of this poll. Honest-to-goodness journalism has been replaced by shilling for the Democrats and their ultra-lib causes. I call it the Woodward and Bernstein factor. They have no one to blame but themselves, however, as talk radio sprang up as a direct result of their abdication of duty. Now with the Internet and cable, the way people get their information has changed forever, and the network nightly news, and the Washington Post, New York Times, Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, L.A. Times, et al, are nothing but ancient dinosaurs bordering on extinction.
Put me down as picking the U.S. to win this weekend’s Ryder Cup matches. Oughta be a great weekend for watching golf.
So now President Obama is comparing his big government / big spending agenda to humans held in bondage? Folks, I’m not making this stuff up. It’s unbelievable, a despicable comment. Y’know, there was a time when I thought Barack Obama was just incompetent – clearly I was wrong. He’s not just incompetent, even worse, he’s a jackass, an absolute disgrace to his office. One wonders if this clown is even aware the slaves were freed by a Republican!
