We’re getting closer to the end of our “suburban renewal” project, and I can’t wait. At first it was a unique experience, then it became merely interesting, now it’s a total drag and I want all of these strangers outta here so I can wash my floors and dust!
Today was a real zoo – the tile guys were here to finish up tiling the kitchen island, the movers came to deliver the refinished desk and credenza (they came out beautiful), the plumber was here to install all the new master bath hardware, and the glass guy came to measure the shower door solution.
But at th same time, our patio door screen door finally disintegrated, so it looks like we’re going to have to bite the bullet on that sooner or later. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
I’m not complaining. All of the work that has been done (yes, pictures to follow one of these days if we ever get our PC totally operational, but that’s another story, entirely!) has been beautiful and served to transform this former mausoleum into a thing of beauty. It’s been expensive fer shure, but it was needed and well worth doing.
I’ll just be glad when it’s over. And the end is near and the final result is coming into focus. But in the meantime, what a zoo!
Say, that’s a great excuse to link to this great video. My favorite U2 song, very edgy….
As edgy as I guess I feel tonight.
