With a tip to one of my all-time favorite Lennon solo songs, I’m feeling the blues today, so let’s all sing along!
You gotta live
You gotta love
You gotta be The Great White Shank
You gotta shove
But it’s so hard, it’s really hard
Sometimes I just feel like givin’ upYou gotta work
You gotta blog
You gotta feed seven hungry rabbits
You gotta slog
But it’s so hard, it’s really hard
Sometimes I just feel like givin’ upBut when it’s good
It’s really good
And when I read your blog comments
I no longer feel like givin’ upYou gotta eat
You gotta sleep
You gotta drink Pusser’ Painkillers
You gotta hang with all your Goodboys friends and play some lousy golf and have some yucks because at least you’re forgetting about all the demands on your time and work and having to pay for all the household renovations, the $8K we’ll owe the IRS in taxes next month, and the Democrats who are really nothing but fascists and socialists who used ObamaCare as a smokescreen for their real agenda which is income redistribution and soaking the rich and bankrupting the country since they could care a tinker’s cuss about the uninsured, all they really wanted was a big government program that would consolidate and expand the power of the state over the individual which doesn’t surprise me that someone like Fidel Castro would approve of but what do you expect of a President who snubs our friends and coddles our enemies.
Err… lost my head there.
Sometimes I feel like givin’ up.

This is not intended to piss you off more than you already are, however……Besides, I love bustin’ your chops.
Bright and early I awoke to my alarm, which is powered by electricity generated by the electric company regulated by the US department of energy. I then took a shower using the clean water provided by the municipal water utility. After that, I turned on the TV to an FCC regulated channel to see what the national weather service or the national oceanographic and atmospheric administration determined the weather was going to be like using satellites designed, built, and launched by the national aeronautics and space administration. I watched this while eating my breakfast, which consisted of US department of agriculture inspected food. I then took some drugs, which have been deemed safe by the food and drug administration to alleviate my slightly noticeable headache.
At the appropriate time, as regulated by the US congress and kept accurate by the national institute of standards and technology and the US naval observatory, I get into my national highway traffic safety administration approved automobile and set out to work via the roads built by the local, state, and federal departments of transportation, possibly stopping to purchase additional fuel of a quality level determined by the environmental protection agency, using legal tender issued by the federal reserve bank. Along the way, I deposit any mail I have to be sent out via the US postal service. I work all day at a publically funded university except for my lunch break, which I utilize to consume some more USDA inspected food.
After work I drive my NHTSA car back home on the DOT roads, to my house, which didn’t burn to the ground while I was at work, thanks to the state and local building codes and the fire marshal’s inspection. Then I log on to the internet which was developed by the defense advance research projects administration and post on Facebook about how SOCIALISM in medicine is BAD because the government can’t do anything right.

I don’t know what’s wrong with the comments, this WordPress release is killing me. But, better late than never as they say…

OK, let’s take your government-run life one department at a time:
Department of Energy – wasting billions of taxpayer dollars on the hoax called “green technology” while millions upon millions of acres of natural gas and oil along our coastlines are deemed “hands off” by environmentalist wackos.
Municipal Water Authority – undoubtedly staffed with a bunch of political hacks.
FCC – Another haven for bow-tied bum-kissing bureaucrats who have no problem wasting the taxpayers’ money. BTW, NPR should receive no federal subsidies and be forced to sell commercials like everone else. It’s nothing but a ultra-left government-run agency masquerading as “public television” and “public radio”.
NOAA – their climate change research is built on the same phony models as everyone else. And they don’t provide any better (or different) service than private firms like Accuweather can.
NASA – Nearly 100% of the hardware and software used in the rockets and satellites put into space by NASA have been developed by private aerospace companies who could do what NASA presently does a helluva lot better and cheaper than NASA ever could. Also, NASA is another government agency whose climate change models have been deemed fradulent.
The EPA is another bloated, wasteful bureacracy whose power to regulate has gone far beyond its original charter. It sticks its nose into too many areas it has no business in.
National Highway Administration is a waste of government money, all could be privatized on the state and local levels and cost less and waste less.
The Federal Reserve is an antiquated and corrupt system that could be, and needs to be, abolished. It doesn’t do anything the Department of the Treasury couldn’t do.
The Post Office is billions of dollars in debt as a result of bloated bureacracy, excessive pensions, corruption, and a business model that was outdated fifteen years ago. It should be abolished and privatized. Again, it provides nothing that UPS or Fed Ex couldn’t do.
Your public university is nothing but a hack-a-rama filled with a bloated bureaucracy and bow-tied, bum-kissing political appointments. Again, it couldn’t do anything a privately-funded college or university couldn’t do.
USDA & FDA – Two government agencies I’ve never had a problem with, since they’re all about public safety.
State and local building codes are administered by people on the take, you can build virtually anything if you know someone.
Just because it’s government run or regulated doesn’t mean it’s either good, well run, or necessary. You’re over-regulated and over-taxed, just like everyone else.
