Sorry for the delay in getting your comment posted, bro, you should be good to go, going forward.

Wow, Don Kent. Mr. New England Weatherman. A legend on WBZ TV and radio. I still remember him using the chalk board before all the new-fangled technology came out. R.I.P. Don, you inspired thousands of kids to love the weather and want to know more about it!

You're right, Dave, why not leave "The Rockford Files" resting comfortably in its legacy and come up with something else. I could think of a few good story lines about Tampa and St. Petersburg where a lone-wolf private detective story would play, even in Peoria. Trailer Park Gumshoe. :-)

I'm predisposed to take a dim view of a remake of The Rockford Files. What's the matter with these people that they can't give a modern take on an older concept and come up with its own brand?

Hey, Doug! Just read where Don Kent, long-time weather man for WBZ just passed away at 93. What an institution!

Joe Fitzgerald of the Herald has a great column about Don at this link:

http://bostonherald.com/news/columnists/view/20100303beloved_weatherman_truly_mastered_the_elements/

But the best line in it was one was always knew: "Doug Kent still laughs at the line that became part of our local vernacular.

“Someone would spot my father,” he recalled, “and shout, ‘Hey, Don, I just shoveled 6 inches of your partly cloudy!’ ”

Great stuff.
