It’s a lazy Saturday, and I’m back from frigid Atlanta, where it was 17 degrees yesterday morning at 7 AM while I stood outside on the MARTA platform waiting for a train to take me to the airport. A dusting of snow and ice everywhere might have been pretty in, oh, upstate New York, but in suburban Atlanta, with all the houses with big windows and southern architecture, it looked odd and out of place. I wish I had snapped a picture with my Blackberry, but it was just too freakin’ cold to bother.
The big news is that the pool looks like it has started its move upwards. Taking take-out back from the pizza join last night, you could tell the sunsets have started getting later, if only by 15 minutes or so. And Tracey tells me she’s also noticed the mourning doves getting more active in the mornings and evenings this week; that can only mean one thing – this weekend’s weather in the eastern half of country notwithstanding, here in the Southwest spring can’t be far behind.
And speaking of it being cold, check this incredible picture from space showing Great Britian covered from head to toe in snow and ice. Pretty cool…er, cold!
