…Rather than tossing another $4 billion down that sinkhole called “Government Motors” and assuming majority control over a company that was dead long ago but just didn’t know it (or did but knew they could count on the government to fall for their “too big to fail” argument), why not just do this: use half to fund one last time the pensions of all current and retired GM workers, and half as a one-time gift to the existing company to bankroll a new company if they promise never to come back to the government asking for more? It would be good for everyone, and close the door on U.S. automaker bailouts.
…When President Obama says, “it’s now or never on health care reform”, I’ll take door #2, Monty.
…This week, Hollywood, next week the Middle East. Didn’t I tell you President Obama looks at the Oval Office the same way a kid looks at a candy store? Glad us taxpayers have plenty of $$$ to satisfy this pathetic excuse for a President’s insatiable thirst for both attention and power.
…It’s time for the Red Sox to look for a permanent replacement for David “Big Papi” Ortiz. I don’t know what’s going on there, but it’s clear to me the big fella is not going to hit this year.
…Have you heard the outcry over the mounting U.S. military deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan? Me neither. Can you imagine the howls from Democrats and liberals were this happening under a John McCain presidency? Let me tell you, the utter and shameless hypocrisy of the American Left and their kiss-asses in the mainstream media make me sick. If “Bush lied and people died”, what does that make the Anointed One?
…I have no horse in the race over President Obama’s nomination of Sonia Sotomayor for the Supreme Court, even if she does seem like a chip off the Prez’s block. My feeling is, you put an angry African-American in the White House masquerading as a uniter (when nothing could be further from the truth) who feels his election is payback for all the evils this country has ever committed over the past 200+ years, don’t be surprised if his Supreme Court picks mirror that same attitude. Elections have consequences, and this is just one of them. This soul-sick and morally and fiscally bankrupt country deserves everything it gets when it elects leaders like this.
…Bill Clinton, your legacy is calling!
…This is one damned fine surf CD from one damned fine surf band. They also do some pretty fine acoustic mellow stuff. Check out this, and this. If Jana doesn’t add these to her collection in the next couple of weeks I’ll be astonished. After all, they come with The Great White Shank’s seal of approval.
I will be adding this cd to my collection…I had hoped there’d be an Endless Summer II soundtrack.
Bless your lil’ ole conservative heart. All this liberal stuff really does get your drawers in a wad. Drink more Mojitos…it can help.

It is time to take the canoe out and paddle up the creek. Taking my cd player and loading surf cd’s on it is just the ticket. A thermos of Mojitos wil complete the plan. Hey, when ya ain’t got no ocean with surf…a slow paddle on the creek will have to do.
Doug…perhaps a joint trip to the Pacific Coast is in order. You, Tracey and moi on the beach with our surf music…just some gnarly old dude and dudettes watching the surf and sunset and imagining it is us out there on a long board.
