Wait till they start adding sin taxes on all fast-food restaurant purchases for the sake of the same thing. Believe me, that's coming next. Once you give government control over heathcare they can penalize any kind of life habit in the name of keeping costs down through prevention. To me this is all truly frightening. What disturbed me the most about the last tobacco increase was that all pretense about smokers paying the cost of their habit went out the window. It was a naked grab of a politically powerless group's money to pay for another group's benefit, in this case subsidizing health care. They got away with it and believe me, the lesson was not lost in DC. The US is becoming a real dog eat dog nation, but pay enough to the DC gang and one might have the privilege of being the last dog eaten. Some very good points, GWS.
