A few nuggets from the ‘net to make you wonder if there is some kind of an alternate universe out there where only idiots or the incompetent reign supreme…
* What kind of world do these parents think their children will be competing in after they leave high school? Not sure complaining about a school system’s grading habits sends the right message…
* News item: Drug dealer arrested in police station bathroom. I love this part of the story:
Police say the man apparently thought he was at a probation office, not a police station.
Well, THAT’S certainly splitting hairs, isn’t it?
* “The View”‘s Joy Behar thinks the Obamas are “too perfect” to be mocked. Riiiiight….
* News item: Goat detained over armed robbery. Now this makes sense to me:
“The group of vigilante men came to report that while they were on patrol they saw some hoodlums attempting to rob a car. They pursued them. However one of them escaped while the other turned into a goat,” Kwara state police spokesman Tunde Mohammed told Reuters by telephone.
Anything you can do to avoid The Man, I say. But didn’t anyone think to check the goat for identification? I would never go anywhere without my wallet!
* When you consider the world we live in I have to think there are better ways to spend $155K than to clone your most beloved pet.
* News item: Man smears feces on his lawyer, flings it at jury. Further down in the article it says….
Prosecutor Christopher Lawson says McGowan was upset because the judge refused to remove public defender Jeffrey Martin from the case.
…and for that the judge increases the guy’s bail from $250K to 1 million? C’mon judge, have a heart!
* Someone tell me if this truly fits the definition of “news”: World’s leftists agree it’s hard to hate Obama. In other news, the weather forecast for tonight is darkness followed by a gradual lightening of the sky by morning…
* News item: Plans to blow up rabbits shelved because of fire concerns. Really:
Water and Nillumbik Council have dropped plans to blow up rabbits with explosive gas after warnings about fire dangers.
Methinks someone’s been watching a few too many reruns of Caddyshack…
Nice list. How and why much of the human race remains arrogant is beyond me.

It’s an ego thing, I’m afraid. Calvin thought it was because we’re fallen. I’m beginning to think it’s just because we’re stupid. 🙂
