The Great White Shank is back and on the attack. I’ve cast off the shackles of three weeks of 17-hour workdays and ready to reclaim the Captain’s Chair here at Goodboys Nations weblog. Did ya miss me? Er, I didn’t think so. But thanks for the e-mails of concern – I’m glad there are a few who look forward to this humble little outpost in the blogshere as part of their daily Internet cruising! So what have I missed?
* I’m with Dave on the whole global-warming-is-a-hoax-perpetrated-by-elitist-liberals-from-quasi-socialist-organizations-like-the-UN,-the-World-Bank,-and-hypocritical-socialist-nations-who-resent-the-USA-simply-for-being-who-we-are thing. Indeed, “Green IS the new “Red”. Fortunately, the word appears to be getting out that the science of it all seems to be at best, er, questionable.
I thought it was just the culture out here, but from this Raven post at And Rightly So!, it’s just the way this country and our culture is now. I guess that’s what happens when self-indulgent, narcissistic baby boomers meet parenthood. Jeesh. I hate to think what the next generation will be like and expect out of their parents…
Good to know, then, that this kind of dysfunctional human behavior has been going on for a very. long. time.
Quote from Rob: “…I’m really not the biggest Russell Crowe fan even though I’ve liked him in everything I’ve seen him in.” Geez, Rob, if I’m Russell Crowe what do I have to do to make you a fan? Stop throwing telephones at hotel employees?
Let’s see if Pope Benedict XVI really confronts the clergy abuse issue when he visits the US next week, as his No. 2 man says he will. It will be interesting to see what the Pope has to say. And interesting to see how the Catholic media out there covers it.
On the golf front – after all, it is Masters Week – can Propranolol really cure ‘the yips’? If I know my fellow Goodboys like Vegas and The Funny Guy, they’ll just say, “square up and save the $ for rounds afterwards”. Having done just that last year and then help bring home the Goodboys Championship trophy I’d have to say I think they’re right.
I suppose it really did sound stupid. I just don’t go out of my way to see his movies. I don’t have a rational explanation for it. I don’t really care about his offscreen drama.

“Master and Commander” is one of my top 5 favorite movies of all time. “A Beautiful Mind” was pretty good too, but Russell Crowe was born to play a British naval captain, I think.
