I know Ann Coulter is often an acquired taste – even for the most hardened of conservatives. But her appearance last night on Hannity and Colmes when she announced she would support Hillary Clinton over John Mccain for President did it for me, once and for all. Granted, she was already skating on thin ice with her tasteless comment about John Edwards last year, but last night she revealed herself to be nothing more than a shrill, shameless self-promoter who must have realized she hadn’t been in the headlines for a while. As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I’m tired of all the name-calling and mean-spiritedness those on the Right have exhibited towards the Republican candidates this primary season. Any conservative would have to be out of their tree to want Hillary Clinton in the White House for the next four years. But if indeed happens, those like Ann Coulter deserve exactly what they get.
It’s people like Coulter that give Republicans and conservatives a bad name. She’s been just barely skating the charge for the past year, but after last night one can honestly say that Ann Coulter has jumped the shark.
