Sometimes when browsing your favorites weblogs you come across a posted comment that is so succinct, and so on target that it deserves a post of its own. In this case, a comment by someone named Karl Daggerfield in response to this post linked at Redstate. Responding to Hillary Clinton’s poor performance in last week’s Democratic debate, Karl offered up this chestnut of a comment:
I have been waiting for the mobile house of cards, known as the Clinton Express, to hit a pothole & come apart. She gets asked a single direct question, and when she refuses to answer, gets asked it again. Then she gets her famous smiley/angry look that reveals that a sacred object has been desecrated, namely Hillary herself.
Has anyone noticed that the Liberals treat Hillary like some Buddhist child who is supposed to have been born as the latest incarnation of some deity, despite no particular evidence? What in God’s name has Hillary ever done to warrant such beatification?
That Hillary gets incensed at hard questions reveals how she & her handlers view her — as an incarnation of the Spirit of Liberalism.
That Hillary can’t take a punch is a given. She is a shrill, self-righteous harridan who — like Napoleon, another diminutive wanna-be emperor — never desired the risks of going into any conflict without an inherent advantage.
It would appear, given their reaction to criticism over Her Highness’ inability to clearly answer a simple Tim Russert yes/no question on drivers licenses to illegal aliens – oops, I mean undocumented workers – that the Clintons have a glass jaw. Whether or not this has any lasting impact on her campaign remains to be seen, but if the Clintons are gonna be this thin-skinned this early in the election process, they’re in for a long 12 months. Of course, it may not even matter: for most liberals, Hillary is almost a religion to be worshipped, so the 2008 election will therefore likely come down to the extent she can remain an attractive (and believe me, I use that term loosely!) candidate to independents.
