Got a nice e-mail the other day from my new friend Antonio Jesus Reyes, who is currently situated in Cambridge, England on studies. Antonio is a huge Beach Boys / SMiLE fan, and after discovering Goodboys Nation weblog, was having trouble finding all the posts associated with my highly-acclaimed 🙂 five-part “Restoring a SMiLE” series from a year ago. Far be it from me to allow such an effort to become the old needle-in-a-haystack effort for someone like Antonio (after all, there has to be better things to do while you’re in Cambridge, England!), so for him and anyone else who might be interested, here are the links to that series:

Since that time, I’ve made some minor alterations to the resconstitued SMiLE version I wrote about, and am not afraid to boast that I’ll put my version of SMiLE up against almost anyone’s. It’s the music, however (not the arrangement and order of songs), that remains the star, and to that I can only thank Brian Wilson and Van Dyke Parks for planting the seed that has become a very large tree indeed in the pop music universe.
