A couple of weeks ago, me and my good friend Killer attended a game on top of the Green Monster at Fenway Park. Great seats, to be sure. Unfortunately, however, between the kind of game we witnessed (a pitcher’s duel) and the fact that freakin’ J.D. Drew wouldn’t or couldn’t take the bat off his shoulder the entire afternoon, well, let’s just say the level of baseball excitement we experienced that afternoon fell somewhere between watching a Hillary Clinton butt-kiss fest on “Ellen” and listening to those shrills on “The View” debate national security.
Fast forward to last Saturday. Evidently, Killer and fellow Goodboy Ron “Cubby” Myerow decide to get bleacher seats at a cost of, well, let’s just say they were a bit cheaper than those Monster seats – and what do they see? Just Clay Buchholz’s no-hitter, that’s what; one of the most exciting games ever played at Fenway Paaaahhhk.
And what do the boys have to say about the experience?
Killer: “…it was unreal. World Series atmosphere. I heard Lefty (PGA pro Phil Mickelson) was at the game. That explains the extremely long lines at the hot dog stand…”
Cubby: “Me and Killa witnessed the NO HITTER that Clay Buchholz pitched this past Saturday night against Baltimore. What a game. I have not been to one in years. Had bleacher seats in center field. It’s great to see a historic game. It was great to see a game period. Doug this should be one for the blog.”
In Goodboys Nation, ask and ye shall receive. So there ya go Cub! You guys sure know how to pick a game to attend!
Timing is everything.
