The Masters golf tournament begins today in Augusta, Georgia at beautiful Augusta National, and no matter how well my choice to win it does this year (it’s Tiger Woods, BTW – I know risky pick, right?), I feel as if I’m already a winner. Why, you ask? Well, it just so happens that a PM friend of mine from work will be attending all four rounds starting today, as her parents have lived in Augusta, GA all their lives, and have had the same seats for years. The place they’ve typically chosen has been by the 15th hole (named “Firethorn”), but given their increased age and inability to do as much walking as they’ve done in the past, this year they’re planning on planting themselves behind the #2 (called “Pink Dogwood”) green.
Oh, and did I mention that her parents already have a reserved parking place right outside the main gate? Sweet!
Oh, and did I mention that this particular PM has been so pleased with the service I’ve provided her over the past year or so that she’s going to bring me back an official Masters t-shirt? VERY sweet – something I can definitely look forward to wearing while lounging on the patio at The Captains G.C. this July at the 17th Goodboys Invitational.
Let’s see: being able to attend The Masters, being able to park your car right outside the main gate, and then having a seat on the grass behind the green on #2 at Augusta National.
The word “priceless” comes to mind.
Yeah, I have a couple of friends who attend the Masters every year on Thursday and Friday. They used to have a few extras that they’d give out as perks to their best customers but Katrina forced them to re-direct most of their resources and they had to cut back on PR. Obviously, Tiger is the star but John Daly gets a lot of attention, too. My friends say that TV doesn’t do justice to the sound of him teeing off. My pick is Tiger, too. Who else?

My dark horse is Padraig Harrington. Of course, if I were playing, it would be me. 🙂
