“I suppose I could have stayed home and baked cookies and had teas, but what I decided to do was fulfill my profession.” — Hillary Rodham Clinton (1992)
Well, the former First Lady, Senator from New York, and Prez wannabe may have taken a lot of $hit for making such a remark, but here at Goodboys Nation, The Great White Shank says, what’s wrong with baking (bleeping) cookies? I mean, it’s gonna take Republicans at least two years – if not more – to recapture their majority in Congress, so what’s a renaissance guy to do in the meantime?
Therefore, without further adieu (that’s French, BTW), and with a tip of the mai tai glass to my sister-in-law Tammy (yes, that’s right – the one who, while I adore, makes me crazy and has more baggage than a fully-loaded Airbus 310), here’s a cookie recipe that any New York senator would love to call her own:
Tam’s Vanilla Cookies
2 eggs
2/3 cup oil
3 teaspoons vanilla
3/4 cup sugar
2 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powderMix all ingredients together, then place golf ball-sized balls on a lightly-greased cookie sheet. Smush flat with the bottom of a glass. (For a sweeter cookie, coat the bottom of the glass with a little sugar. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 10 minutes.
Makes anywhere between 12-16 cookies.
Give it a try in your own kitchen and let me know how it all turns out. Bon appetit! (er, that’s French too…)
