Places to see what America is all about on this day of celebration and remembrance:
Battle Greens, Lexington and Concord;
Gettysburg National Military Park;
Vicksburg National Military Park;
And, of course, Independence Hall.
It’s sometimes hard to forget amidst the partisan rancor (on both sides) that seems to have engulfed our country since the election of 2000. But, regardless of one’s political stripe, this is a day to celebrate that experiment of liberty and freedom that continues to be the United States of America, and to thank Almighty God for bestowing on this country that beacon and ideal of freedom which stands as a model and hearkening trumpet for the oppressed of this world. As a country we may by no means be perfect, but thank God we are always striving for that perfection born out of the ideal of freedom.
May God bless the United States of America.
