Only a few notes to blog about today, as I’ll be spending most of my time at the Las Vegas airport. Had a huge duststorm in Phoenix last night – must have looked something like this – and the weather has actually turned cool-ish and rainy today.
…In the meantime, check out this very cool story from Live Science about satellite technology and storms.
…and this story about the true nature of the ACLU and its tactics. Hopefully this will start getting more coverage from the mainstream media, but I wouldn’t count on it.
…I think this country has a lot more on its plate than to have our legislators needless wrangling over a constitutional ban on gay marriage, and I’m glad the measure went down to defeat. I’ve never believed marriage should be up to anyone else but the states, and frankly, believe the Church ought to get out of it as well. In the Anglo-Catholic tradition there is the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony, and that should be sufficient enough to consecrate a man and a woman’s relationship before God. Whatever the state wants to do with marriage should be in a civil context only, and up to the residents of that state to clarify what it means.
Well, I’m off to the airport – I hear it’s a mess out there, so say a prayer for me! Blog ya tomorrow.
