Well, regardless of what Punxsutawney Phil says, spring must have already sprung here in the East Valley, as the mourning doves have taken to hanging out on the wall next to our fruit trees. There are two nests, one in the lemon tree, one in the lime. Given that they’re preening themselves and basically hanging out by the lemon tree, looks like that’s their early choice for 2006.
When airplanes and deers, and alligators and cars collide, bad things happen – unfortunately, to the animals. However, the animal world appears to be fighting back, as coyotes in New Jersey have become more than a nuisance – in fact, terrorizing elementary school officials, who were forced to lock down one Morris County school for a day a few years ago.
Tiger Woods has now won his first two events of 2006: playoff wins at the Buick Open in San Diego and today at the Dubai Desert Classic. Is there ANY doubt that he wins at least three, if not all four majors this year? His 2000-2001 season is legendary for his “Tiger Slam”; we may, in fact, be witnessing something greater in 2006: an unparalleled example of sports excellence not seen in this day and age. Go get ’em, Tiger.
Now word comes down that James Taylor is planning a new album, his first since 2002. Al-Reuters calls that news? Yikes, that’ll get the dogs and cats howling… 🙂
