It’s FBR Open time out here in Phoenix – the most wild, raucous event on the PGA Tour schedule. Scottsdale becomes a zoo, Sky Harbor Airport has G4s and G5s littered across the runways, and people fly in from across the country just to stay with Aunt Beryl and Uncle Billy or cousin Susie for the weekend. Of course, everywhere else across the country it’s Super Bowl weekend. I don’t have a dog in this hunt, but for my friend Jerome’s sake, I hope the Steelers ride “the Bus” to make Jerome Bettis’ final game a fitting cap to his Hall of Fame career. Prediction: Jonathan Kaye wins the FBR by 3 strokes, the Steelers win 27-20.
